MYELOMA UK
#FindThe851
Social / Print campaign
Awareness campaign highlighting the many undiagnosed who slipped past screening during the pandemic.
FINDING BLOOD CANCER’S HIDDEN VICTIMS
Every year, around 5,900 people are diagnosed with the blood cancer myeloma in the UK.
After the pandemic years, the expected number was 851 people short.
The Myeloma Mystery turned an expected symptom awareness campaign into a UK-wide hunt for the hidden 851, offering symptoms in the form of ‘clues’ over Myeloma Awareness Week – inspiring altruism in others, highlighting a shortfall in diagnoses and spreading the word to wider groups. It was mentioned in Scottish Parliament & backed by MSPs.
